When you purchase a Lenovo laptop in Philippines, you’re entitled for a free McAfee Internet Security 2009 3 computer license valid for 6 months. I have a friend there and he wasn’t able to successfully get his McAfee IS 2009 license. So I used TeamViewer to remotely help him out and managed to get his license. Anyway, the steps to get the free McAfee Internet Security 2009 license is really long and confusing. I’ve taken the liberty of writing the whole steps down so that the next Lenovo user will be able to obtain his free McAfee Internet Security 2009 without problems.

1. Go to this page: http://www.lenovopromos.com/LREG/PH

2. Enter POL in the media code box and click the Verify button.

3. Click Agree and Proceed button.

4. Fill up the form. Make sure you enter a real working Email address. The rest of the information can be bogus except Serial Number. You can find the 8 digit serial number at front right panel or on the back of the Lenovo system. (Googling the phrase lenovo serial number K100 reveals a lot of working 8 digit serial numbers Changing the numbers at the end of a legitimate serial numbers also works). Click Submit when done.

5. Check your email address that you entered in the form at step 4. You should get an email from Lenovo (lenovo@blugrapes.com) with the title Confirmation of Lenovo Purchase. There is a link that you must click to activate the download.

6. Click the Download Now button where it says Free 6 Months Trial

7. Now you’ll have to create a McAfee account by filling up the form. Click Read Privacy Policy button when finished filling up the form.

8. Scroll right to the bottom of the McAfee Privacy Policy page and click I Agree.

9. Scroll right to the bottom of the End User License Agreement page and click I Agree.

10. You should see a print receipt page now. Click Go to My Account. Leave the web browser with the current page open.

11. Now check your email that you’ve used to create McAfee account. You should receive an email from subscriptions@mcafee.com with the subject Your McAfee Account. You’ll have to click the link in the email to complete the activation process.

12. Go back to the web browser where you left it open in step 10. Click Download button.

13. Click I Agree button.

14. Click the small download button to download DMSetup-Serial.exe

15. Run DMSetup-Serial.exe when finished downloading. You should be able to to select Typical or Custom installation but if you don’t see that and asked to login, just enter your McAfee login details that you’ve created in step 7.

16. The setup will automatically download and install McAfee Internet Security 2009 on your computer.

After helping my Philippine friend to install the McAfee Internet Security 2009, I noticed that the graphical user interface (GUI) is exactly the same as version 2008. Every software that goes through a major update surely has some noticeable changes in the interface. I checked the official McAfee datasheet and saw that the screenshot is the same. I believe that the McAfee 2009 products only improved the core of the program but not interface.

Note: This offer is meant for people who bought Lenovo laptop in Philippines, not everyone. As you can see, the Lenovo user would have to go through a very long process to get the free 6 months McAfee Internet Security 2009 license and I believe not every basic computers is able to achieve that. The complete step-by-step provided is meant to help the Lenovo customers, and not to promote piracy.

Rab ne Bana Di Jodi Music Review

OMG OMG OMG its another Shahrukh Khan - Aditya Chopra movie yayyy!!!

Yes, the very thought of an SRK-Aditya Chopra reunion turns the coldest of blokes into a teenage cheerleader. Rab ne Bana di Jodi is a huge release, and we got our hands on the music CD a few hours ago.

Composer duo Salim-Sulaiman and lyricist Jaideep Sahni have massive shoes to fill, after Jatin-Lalit scored DDLJ and Mohabbatein, Aditya Chopra's earlier vehicles. And are the songs as good? Read on.

The album starts off with 'Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai' , and a melodious santoor grabs your attention pleasantly. The beginning evokes images of Veer-Zaara, but then goes flat as soon as the vocals come in. Roop Kumar Rathod was probably miscast for the playback, somebody more commercial like K.K would've done more justice to it.

'Haule Haule' plays next and the song instantly brings a smile upon the face. Audiences have already seen clips of the song in the promos on TV and Sukhwinder Singh provides mellow and restrained vocals.

'Dance Pe Chance' has the powerhouse of Sunidhi Chauhan and Labh Janjua crooning over some Punjabi beats, and one wonders if this would be the track of the album. Unfortunately the song is slightly underwhelming as the orchestration is a bit of a turnoff.

'Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte' slices and dices up old masala and turns it into a neo new age feel good song. There are elements of 'Jab Pyaar Kisi Se Hota Hai', a dash of 'Pal Bhar Ke Liye Koyi Hamein Pyaar Kar Le', a helping of 'Hum Hai Rahi Pyaar Ke' and a topping of 'O Haseena Zulfon Waali' along with 'Jai Jai Shiv Shankar' . Sonu Nigam provides the vocals and it feels as if he is holding the mike in front of his school teachers.

Then there is 'Dancing Jodi', a four minute remix version of 'Dance pe chance', which turns out be a wee bit better than the original, thanks to the elevated beats and pep.

And to finish things off is the female version of 'Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai', with vocals by Shreya Ghoshal. The song just lasts 100 seconds and is a moody piece, with slackened pace and murkier hue than the original.

All in all, the music of 'Rab ne bana di Jodi' is nothing like what we heard in DDLJ, but that would be too critical. The album isn't exactly a bad buy, but never elevates to the extraordinary star cast that powers this film. We know for sure that the songs would gel very well with the movie, and Aditya Chopra is a master of that.

Shilpa sizzles in 'Shut Up and Dance'

Hold your breath as the wait to see Shilpa Shetty sizzle on Miami Beach would be over pretty soon. The latest promo from DOSTANA would be hitting the music channels any moment and the effect it would have on the viewers can only be imagined. 

This writer had an exclusive dekko at Shilpa's item number 'Shut Up and Dance' and it can be confidently said that Tarun Mansukhani, director of DOSTANA, has yet another hit number up his sleeve after 'Desi Girl' and 'Jaane Kyon'. Shilpa Shetty is truly irresistible in her beach wear as she sets the temperatures soaring with her 'jhatka–matka' in a manner that only she can. It seems that the gorgeous lady hadn't gone anywhere since her 'Chura Ke Dil Mera' days. 

The perfect figure is there for display even as Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham surround her at both ends while the eye candy effect is hardly to be missed. Composers Vishal and Shekhar can assure themselves that in their next 'Unforgettable' outing, they have another dance number ready to be played on stage.

GOLMAAL RETURNS lads Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade cross–dress on Director Rohit Shetty's call!!!

Apparently there was a scene in the film that required the guy gang to dress up like women. And it happens to be a Women's day so they dress up like women to enter the mall, as only women were allowed to enter on that particular day. No wonder the guys got some strange looks from the women folk around, but then no complaining when you are the centre of attraction, right guys?

Rohit Shetty shares, "I was quite taken aback when Ajay (Devgan) agreed to this scene in particular. He was very gung–ho to go ahead with the scene!! Infact none of the guys had any reservations, which made it one of the best scenes in the film."

The film also stars Kareena Kapoor, Amrita Arora, Celina Jaitley &Anjana Sukhani, and is produced by Shree Ashtavinayak's Cinevision Limited. The film will hit the theaters this Diwali on 29th October 2008.

This one will surely grab the eyeballs to say the least!!!

Fans of superhero Hrithik Roshan have been starving to get a glimpse of their favourite star, as it has been a long time since JODHAA AKBAR released in February this year. They did see Roshan Jr. in his elements, dancing to the title track of his home banner, KRAZZY 4, but it was too short and did not whet their appetite. With KITES still far away, is their any hope? Well, there is! 

As per trade and distribution sources, the directorial debut venture of actor–director Farhan Akhtar's sister Zoya Akhtar, LUCK BY CHANCE, is being readied for a January release. Hrithik Roshan plays a superstar (like he is in real life!) and makes a lengthy special appearance in the film, unlike in KRAZZY 4. It will also be Farhan Akhtar's second film as an actor, after his stunning debut in ROCK ON! 

LUCK BY CHANCE, the next film from Ritesh Sidhwani's banner after the super–hit ROCK ON! is all set to hit the screens on 23rd January 2009.
